When European colonists first landed in North America, they were anticipating the discovery of all manner of new animals of all shapes and sizes. Deep under the capital of Scotland lies a dark series of chambers and passageways known as the Edinburgh vaults. These vaults were originally created back in 1788 and designed as store rooms for the businesses above.
