“Thoughts About Autonomy”

  • Summary

  • It takes a very special person to desire, value, work towards, achieve and maintain a durable autonomy (under all circumstances).  The opposing forces to autonomy are not to be discounted, dismissed or underestimated. Consistency, in dedication, requires strength and emotional agility.  The sad truth is: This is WHY so few people elect to do the necessary hard work that is indisputably and universally required.  The same truth applies to both an autonomous personal life and career life.  Society, culture, professions, vocations and religions other similar affiliations constitute ‘islands’ of group-think, group-speak and group pressures.  Actively Participating in each group presents inherently unique choices to be made.
