Welcome to the audio tour for Through My Eyes: An Artist's Re-Creation by Maureen Coles. #1. Mother Log

24 x 24 mixed media on cradled wood panel.

A Fallen Log, nurturing fungus entwined with leaves. The inspiration for this piece is the abundance of relationships in the forest. Curling fungus that is firm and feminine beside the rough edged bark embracing each other. All painted of white, void of color to enhance the tactile experience.

#2. Icons of the Beach

20 x 24, mixed media, cradled wood panel.

Large rock monoliths tower over waves, rocks, and beach. Walking the beach, hearing the roar of the waves crashing against enormous rocks, smells of salty brine with the sand squishing between your toes.

All painted in white, devoid of color, to enhance the tactile experience.

#3. From Point Atkinson

#6. Gulf Island Trail

48 x 24, Acrylic on canvas

The heat of the sun dapples the forest trail, leaving deep shadows and blues and purples behind. Vivid colors of orange and green dappled beside brilliant blues on tree bark. Smelling the heat of the needle strewn path envelopes you in summer.

A spectacle of brilliant colours welcome the day over a calm sea. A variety of jewel tones sparkle over the ocean. A sunrise always brings a promise of a wonderful day.
