Urban Lady Prepper

  • Summary

  • Practical Preparedness for Single Moms and Single Women living in the city. Hi! My name is Lynn Jordan. Most prepper media feature single dudes, family men, or lady homesteaders who are married with kids, houses, and land. These folks tend to live in rural areas; too few focus on prepping in urban locations, where many Single Moms and Single Females (SMSFs) live. SMSFs are not well represented in the prepper community, and I intend to change that! From losing a job to a natural disaster to a zombie apocalypse, you CAN be a prepper with limited space and a tight budget. I’m happy to show you how with grit, grace, and humor. I also touch upon social issues that impact my SMSF community. While SMSFs are my focus, ALL ARE WELCOME HERE! Time to get aboard the preparedness train and face an uncertain future with confidence!

  • Summary of Season Two - Which Scenario Resonated with YOU?
    Sep 15 2024
Welcome to my 20th episode and the end of season two!

There are millions of podcasts, but most never make it past three episodes. To still be here with 20—and growing—makes me more excited to keep delving into the world of prepping with you. Also, I have officially reached 2000 downloads! Reaching that milestone generally takes a podcast about a year or two. So, I'm very grateful to everyone who follows, listens, downloads, and shares, allowing me to reach that mark in under four months. Thank you!

This episode recaps this season, and I answer a few questions from my subscribers. If you're new to the podcast, it will give you a good idea of the topics covered and the information provided; go back to hear the previous episodes here or on your favorite podcasting platform! If you would like to subscribe to my weekly newsletter, sign up here.

My YouTube channel is LIVE! Previous episodes will be uploaded soon, and more stuff to come.

  • Water in Extremes: A Guide to Adapting to the Loss of Fresh Water
    Sep 8 2024
Only 1% of the water on earth is usable for all humanity’s needs—from drinking to powering industries. It’s not a lot, and it’s getting worse. Here is information and some ideas on what we can do, individually and collectively.

You can read my original blog about this here. You can also view the video I mentioned regarding the depleting aquifers here.

Information on Moses West, the inventor of the Atmospheric Water Generator (AWG) can be found here and on the socials @moseswestfoundation.

If you would like to leave me a question via voice message about prepping, something I've covered, or you would like me to, I provide that info later in the episode. I will use these messages for a Q&A episode next week for the finale of Season 2!

Visit www.urbanladyprepper.com and sign up for my weekly newsletter. You can also read my articles and find related links and sources.

If you love the ULP graphic with my urban prepping lady, I will have merch available with her on it until 9/30. Grab a shirt, hat, or non-clothing item at my shop!

  • Preparedness for Every Body: Disabled, Elderly or Injured, Pt. 2
    Sep 1 2024
This is Part 2 of Preparedness for Every Body. Welcome to the second part of this special with my guests, Nicole Adamonis and Cassandra.

They are providing an honest look at navigating life with disabilities and how the right mindset will always make the difference, especially when it's clear emergency preparedness is inadequate for those with limitations—whether permanently or temporarily. Great insight and tips! Here is the remainder of our conversation, which I'm sure you'll continue to find motivating and powerful.

Feel free to revisit my Disability & Disaster—How To Prepare, Navigate, Thrive! blog entry with sobering information and preparedness tips at my website, Urban Lady Prepper.

Nicole Adamonis is a professional esthetician, Reiki Master, and yoga teacher with a weekly online class sensitive to those with physical limitations. Visit her website for more information.

Cassandra is a full-time worker with three children with disabilities. She is creating a podcast that focuses on issues facing the disabled. I will provide the information once it is launched.

I thank these ladies again for their time. Connect through the socials for more, and let me know how you felt about this ULP special.
