Episode 29 and we have an absolute legend and super honoring guest , Thomas Mann AKA @pixtur AKA the father of TOOLL.IO. For those who haven't been initiated, Tool is a powerful, FREE, node based, open source software for generating visual effects and motion graphics for installations, live performances, and VJing. It is easy to learn, yet incredibly powerful. Thomas is a world class developer & artist, finding his chops and notoriety in the Demo scene, he then became a super high in demand developer, working for such companies as Nokia among many others. Somewhere in the early 2000s Thomas Started Tooll, almost two decades later it is a fully fledged software with a striving community and handful of dedicated developers. He is also half of the Audio Visual project @wakeaudiovisual together with his wife Lena Kilkka, definitely check them out! For Pixtur’s SET he graciously performs an audio visual set, building it from scratch in front of our eyes. Accompanied by music from ‘the same’ , Thomas shows us the absolute power of Tooll and how intuitive, Fluid and fast it can be to create a beautiful and immersive A/V set on the fly. He then shows us into some outstanding workflows and some up and coming features. Thomas is a force of nature, extremely fascinating and an untapped faucet of inspiration, history and knowledge. I thoroughly enjoyed talking with him, and I know you will as well - and we have a new record for longest episode!!! Big Thank you to GRIG / VDMO / VJ UNION for connecting me and Thomas!!
