This week we hear two of Warsaw Community Schools Instructional Coaches, Mandy Duncan and Hilary Stouder, along with Deputy Superintendent, Dr. Dani Barkey,  about the Literacy Cadre Work being done in our elementary schools in partnership with the Department of Education as we bring The Science of Reading into our classrooms! Work through the cadre is shifting the way Warsaw Community Schools teach reading to all students. Episode 7: Go Baby Go!
 
This week Mason Fitterling, student at Warsaw Community High School, and Mrs. Abbi Richcreek, teacher at Edgewood Middle School, join Aimee and Kyle to tell the story of Go Baby Go! This unique STEM experience invites Edgewood students, as well as engineers from around the community, to redesign and modify 12-volt vehicles for toddlers with developmental challenges.

Tune in to learn more about the theater experience and how to get connected into this opportunity. The team also shares information regarding upcoming theater performances for our community.

Episode 4: Shamrock Shop - Enriching the Lives of Others
 
This week a crew from Harrison Elementary, Cooper Williams, student, Ashlie Williams, parent, Kelsie Herman, 5th Grade Teacher, and Matt Deeds, Principal, join Aimee and Kyle to tell the story of the Shamrock Shop. Through the conversation, you’ll learn more about where the idea of the shop came from, how the shop enriches the lives of students and families at Harrison Elementary, and the movement it has created in other schools around our community. 

Episode 3: Washington STEM Academy Literacy Night
 
Mrs. Fabiola Nunez, Digital Learning Specialist at Washington STEM Academy and Cheri Sleighter, Principal at Washington STEM Academy, join Aimee and Kyle to share a bit more about themselves and their unique experiences within Warsaw Community Schools. Through the conversation, we will learn more about an upcoming Literacy Night at the School.

On Wednesday, September 27th, Washington STEM Academy will be hosting its first literacy night from 5:30-7:30. This is a part of their literacy week which will be in conjunction with the Literati book fair and other literacy programming activities at school that week. 

The literacy night will offer eye screenings, free books and reading activities, crafts, and local authors will be in attendance. Pages Aplenty bookstore, the WILL Bus, Kate’s Kart, the Bike Library, and other literacy services in the county will be in attendance. Teachers and staff will be setting up games, reading rooms, and other opportunities for students and parents to further engage in literacy and understand what services and other programming that is available to them in Kosciusko County. Local college students will also participate with initiatives they’ve created to help students gain new language skills.

The first 100 students to come to literacy night will receive a free bag to carry their freebies in courtesy of Warsaw Orthodontics.

Mr. Dan Graney, Instructional Coach for the Warsaw Inquiry Learning Lab, joins Aimee and Kyle to share a bit more about himself and his unique experiences within Warsaw Community Schools. He will share more about the WILL bus, its purpose and history, as well as the experiences it creates for all elementary school students.
