  • Where Did All the Ink Tanks Go?
    Sep 27 2022

The printing industry is one of the most durable of modern industries.  Print and printing has survived the radio, fax machine, television, internet, email, and the digital age.  Part of the reason why print is so darn tough is its razor and razor blades business model: sell the hardware (printer) cheap and make your money on downstream consumables (ink & toner).

Today, however, if you walk into a Staples there are not a whole lot of ink cartridges on the wall. The industry has evolved to new business models including subscription services and continuous supplies products.

Let's talk to our experts Senior Analyst Valerie Alde-Hayman (Printing Hardware) and Industry Analyst Adrienne Spear (Supplies) and learn about what has changed and what's to come in one of IT's most resilient industries.
