    In this thrilling episode of the Women Offshore podcast, we interview the Salty Science team, the World's Toughest Row winners. We highlight the extraordinary achievements of the Salty Science team, consisting of Noelle Helder, Lauren Chantale Bégin, Isabelle Côté, and Lauren Shea, who all share a passion for ocean science, which has taken them on incredible journeys around the world. They share a deep commitment to conservation and exploration, which led them to undertake this monumental challenge. These remarkable women recently completed the world's toughest row, crossing the Atlantic Ocean to raise awareness for ocean science.

    They are three generations of marine scientists connected through marine research and education. Isabelle, a world-renowned marine ecologist, was Chantale’s PhD advisor and had a big impact on her ideas in marine ecology and conservation. Noelle and Lauren met while studying coral reef ecology during a field course in Curaçao – that was taught by Chantale! Their paths have all remained intertwined over the years, united by a passion for marine conservation. They have committed their lives to understanding, protecting, and sharing their passion for the Ocean. Competing in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge is one more platform for them to draw attention to ocean protection, and to support the people and organizations on the front lines of the fight for our ocean.

    The World's Toughest Row: The Salty Science team recently completed the world's toughest row, crossing the Atlantic Ocean. This grueling race tested their endurance, resilience, and teamwork. Despite the challenges, they emerged victorious, coming in first place. Their journey not only showcased their incredible physical and mental strength but also raised significant awareness for ocean science.

  • From SpaceX to Maritime Advocacy: The Inspiring Captain Lindsay Price, Episode 212

    On today's podcast, we have Captain Lindsay M. Price, the Director of Advocacy at the Women Offshore Foundation. Currently, she captains a SpaceX vessel, bringing with her over 18 years of maritime experience. A SUNY Maritime College graduate, she has held various positions, including USCG Designated Examiner and Director of Advocacy. Captain Price serves on two Federal Advisory Committees, NMERPAC and NTSAC.

    In 2011, she became the first female Captain at G&H Towing Company and holds pilotage in major ports like Los Angeles, Long Beach, Galveston, and Houston. In 2022, she joined SpaceX, overseeing the safe recovery of Falcon rockets and fairings.

    Passionate about diversity and inclusion, Captain Price aspires to become a Harbor Pilot on the Texas Gulf Coast. Outside her maritime career, she is an EMT, Captain of the city’s Volunteer Fire Department, a nationally ranked United States Master swimmer, and a CrossFit enthusiast.
