• Gospel Freedom - Good News: Part 8 - Woodside Bible Church
    Oct 28 2024

Have you found yourself reverting back to old habits and places of comfortability? Often this reversion happens because of our innate sin nature pushing us back into our old ways--but when we are in Christ we are called to freedom. Maybe you fall into the state of mind that you can be sufficient on your own and do it all on your own, Jesus deeply desires us to reject this thinking and stand firm in His freedom for us—the freedom of the Gospel. We are continuing in our Galatians series, Good News, studying the freedom from the law and security found in the Gospel. When we find ourselves going back to our old ways, habits, or sins, it's as if we are re-enslaving ourselves to the law and forfeiting our liberty in Jesus. Paul shows us that we lose the benefits of Christ, the scandal of the cross, and the motivation to love when we revert to the law and believe the lie that we can do it all on our own efforts. In some ways freedom is scary, we can find comfort in thinking that our faith is based on works, but Jesus is desiring us to know in deep ways that our faith is based solely by believing in the Gospel and accepting Christ as our Savior. Jesus saved us by grace alone, despite our flaws and shortcomings, He loves us deeply. We would be foolish to go back to the law and abandon a gracious Gospel and loving Father. Listen to the latest message, Gospel Freedom, to learn more on how you can abandon the law and deepen your trust in Christ alone.

    Sep 23 2024

By belonging to Christ we find a new sense of freedom; we are adopted into the body of Christ. Our faith is not justified in our works, but by faith alone in Jesus. As we dive into another week of our Good News message series, we will see this week that the Gospel alone is all we need. Paul writes in his letter to Galatia that he has been crucified with Christ, stating that Christ lives in him, no longer did he allow his flesh to lead him. As fellow believers in Jesus, this truth is the same for us. When we came to know Christ Jesus, we surrendered our lives to Him, from there our lives are transformed by faith in God. In this chapter, we see that nothing but the Gospel is needed. The Gospel is our source of freedom, ministry, and justification. We have access to lean on Jesus at any moment. The Gospel is rich in hope for a weary world. Join us in the newest message of the series, The Gospel Plus Nothing Else, we pray a fire is stirred in your heart to be a minister of the Good News of Jesus.

  • Assets – Metamorphosis: Part 7 – Woodside Bible Church
    Sep 3 2024

We live in a society infatuated with consumerism. Social media and brands are constantly creating new things and bringing to our attention something new that we need to feel fulfilled. We buy the latest gadgets, clothing items, and accessories, almost with the intent that the more we buy the more we will feel content. For the past month, we have been walking through our Metamorphosis series, tackling ways we can transform our lives. To wrap up our series, we are opening the book of Hebrews to discuss how we can find true contentment. Our culture is always trying to gain and get more as if there is this invisible ladder we are trying to climb, but when is enough truly enough for us? Scripture warns us that the love of money is the root of all evil. Finding true contentment means, we must love God more than we love money. We are called to renounce loving money, remember God's promise, and respond with confident faith. Join us in the final sermon of the series and be encouraged that we have everything we need to be content in Christ.
