Advent is a time of anticipating the arrival of the messiah. For the Christian Advent serves as a reminder of all Jesus came to bring us. In this message we focus on the subject of Jesus our Hope.

This week was such a powerful time at Word of Life. We started a new series for the Thanksgiving season called Thankful People. See when we are purposeful to give thanks we recognize our dependence on the Savior for all that we have. We keep our posture of worship and acknowledge that Jesus is on the throne of our hearts. If you missed this week, I encourage you to go and watch the service and take time to be purposeful in your worship of the King. Walk in the favor that God has provided for you this week and have a great week.

There is an old song that says “The world behind me the cross before me”. That lyric is well understood, when we follow Christ we leave the pattern of the world behind. However, once we receive the miracle of the finished work of Jesus in his death, burial and resurrection our position shifts from one of looking for the miracle to one who has received it. The transformative miracle of the cross has empowered us to overcome the temptations found in the world system and give us the call to share that miracle with those we come in contact with.
