Così si esprime Sade sul finire del Settecento, quando i "lumi" della Ragione stavano cedendo il posto alle "lanterne" del Terrore. Si potrà concordare o no con il Divin Marchese, ma la lussuria, più che un peccato, appare come una forza debordante della natura.
