Audio Journeys are exploring the National Civil Rights Museum Memphis Tennesse. Forty-one years ago on April 4 1968, Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King was assassinated as he was leaving the Lorraine Motel in Memphis Tennessee to join the city's sanitation workers' striking for better working conditions and pay.

Its sugar bush time in the maple tree forests of Canada. In March and April the sap from the maple trees flow. This thin sticky sap becomes one of Canada's most popular exports, maple syrup. Audio Journeys are on the Kings Road east of Quebec City exploring a sugar stack that welcomes visitors year round to their outdoor recreation center. Gliding, a winery and an inn: Audio Journeys explore St. Remy France. In southern France's Provence, the old ways of doing things are not forgotten in the modern society. Patricia Lawrence soars with the eagles in a glider to discover the old villages and farms that dot the valleys. Back on the ground, we stop at an organic winery built in a cave in the mountains we were just soaring above. We explore an historic inn, built over Roman ruins, that is being preserved by the innkeepers.

Outside of Muenster, we visit a unique project: a biotope, an important sanctuary for hundreds of thousands of birds. We enter a bird blind with Dr. Hans Schutz, the man in charge of the biotope.

With our Historic Highlights of Germany guide, we walk through a garden with a beautiful water fountain,to the ruins of a large Roman thermal bath complex that built by order of the Emperor Constantine in the third century. At the end of a box canyon, near precious metal deposits, Deadwood lured such famous Old West characters as Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane. Deadwood might have been torn down and forgotten, except that it also holds the distinction of being the town where an angry assailant killed Wild Bill Hickok while he was on his honeymoon.

We arrive in San Jose from a small boat across Lake Petén Itzá. There are few roads into the region. This quiet lakeside hill town has a Mayan and Spanish Language School. After a pleasant walk up the hill from the school, we find botanists preserving the traditional Mayan medicinal plants in gardens where signs help visitors with identification.

Audio Journeys are exploring the ancient ruins of a Mayan village in El Salvador. Twenty kilometers northwest of San Salvador the capital of El Salvador is the 650 year old village of Joya de Ceren, the only UNESCO World Heritage Site in El Salvador. What makes this site very unique is that the everyday life of the Mayans was preserved when around 600 A.D. a volcano erupted spewing volcanic ashes that covered the land, caused the common people to flee their homes.

Audio Journeys explores a small patch of some of the Republic of El Salvador's last remaining rainforests. Fifty spider monkeys live in the canopy of 300-year-old trees. The spider monkeys are protected as long as they stay in this very small area, known as the Chaguantique Nature Reserve.

This important private reserve is maintained by El Salvador's ministry of Natural Resources.

Lake Itasca is the undisputed headwaters of the Mississippi River Itasca State Park, Minnesota. Native Americans living in the pine forests, led white explores to the source of the mighty Mississippi River. It was a European explorer that named the source or headwaters of the Mississippi in Latin, it was the Native Americans who named the Mississippi River in their own language. In London England, an exact replica of the 17th century William Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre opened in 1995. Audio journalist, Lee Daley is exploring the Globe Theatre with actress and docent, Kitty Grimes. Ms Grimes tells us how the new Globe Theatre began while we walk through the scrim and into a Shakespeare past.

The story of an enslaved African American. Booker T. Washington was an author, an educator, an orator and political leader, and one of history's most influential African Americans. One if his more remembered quotes is: “Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome.” He titled his autobiography Up from Slavery.

Audio Journeys by Travel Radio International is on a road trip through the Southwest United. On Route 66, Holbrook, Arizona, still has the look and feel of a Wild West town. Holbrook, about 100 miles east of Flagstaff, was once the roughest, toughest, most lawless town of the Old West. We explore the Navajo County Courthouse Museum. Some people, including our guide, believe the 1898 courthouse is haunted.
