Boone

Left on his own after his family disintegrates, an Appalachian teen stumbles toward adulthood with the odds stacked against him and no real assets. Boone tries to do the right thing, but his anger and insecurity get in the way. He keeps at it, though, learns who he can count on and who he can’t, and finds help in the most unexpected places. Boone is left struggling to come to terms with what just tore his family apart and the guilt he still feels about what happened to his brother Frankie.

"Matching Scars" - continuing Boone's story begun in "Pushing Back" On his own and struggling, Boone has a place to stay, but Gamaliel’s son-in-law Jerry wants him out, his daughter isn’t fighting for Boone as hard as she could, and his friends can’t do much to help. Gamaliel’s health worsens, and as Boone sees how far Jerry is willing to go to get rid of him, he realizes he’s not the only one with scars.
