Mellow Summers just wanted to go to college and get her film degree. She moved into a furnished apartment with her friend Jackie only to find that it already had a tenant: the ghost of a girl who was murdered a year earlier. Now it is up to Mellow to not only discover who the murderer is, but to prove it as well. With the help of the ghost Rachel, Mellow sets out to solve the year old mystery. She soon finds out that she may have taken on more than she can handle.

One night Timothy shows up claiming to have been murdered. Now Mellow must help another ghost solve a mystery. At the same time, various businesses have experienced thefts of small, but valuable items. Even the Candle Shoppe is a victim. In investigating Timothy's murder and the many thefts, Mellow is led to the dreaded and haunted Pen Mill's Estate. Can she solve both mysteries before she gets scared out of her wits?

Mel wakes up covered in blood and with a knife in her hand. She has no memory of what happened. Rachel gets word about it in the spirit world and decides to assist Mel. Now the prime suspect in a murder investigation, it is up to Mel's friends to prove her innocence.

In this fourth book in the Mellow Summers series, Mel finds herself on a new mystery with the ghosts of three little girls. While at the library investigating a ghost story for Tiny, a woman is murdered. As the investigation intensifies, Mel discovers that the victim was not so innocent after all. Embarking on one twist after another, Mel tries to find the murderer and help the three girls cross over.

Yee-haw! Mel's out west and murder isn't far behind. While on vacation with her aunt and Jackie on a dude ranch in South Dakota, a dead body shows up in her room. In an area she does not know very well, it is up to Mel and her friends to solve the mystery. During the investigation, Rachel shows up, and so does the ghost of Jedidiah: a man who died in the late 1800s.

While working at the Candle Shoppe, a man rushes in demanding to speak to Mel. He tells her that someone is trying to kill him and then drops dead. Though the coroner informs her it was a heart attack, Mel cannot get the man's words out of her head. Soon, she is drawn to an abandoned inn that dates back to 1688 and the legend of Smiley's Ghost. With the help of her friends, Mel explores the abandoned inn and soon finds herself being harassed by a black rider on a horse.

Halloween has arrived and so has everyone’s favorite ghost: Rachel. Invited to a Halloween party, Mel and her friends hope to enjoy a night of fun. The party soon turns sour when a man turns up dead during a murder mystery game.

While spending time at an exclusive resort, Mel discovers a body, except when she tries to tell someone, it disappears. Soon the same body appears wherever she goes, and the other tourists, including Greg, believe that she has imagined the entire affair.
