Alan Barbara is a children’s author from the UK and lives in Berkshire with his wife and Ted the dog. He writes the hilarious Lottie Baxter stories for children aged 8-13 but also makes sure his books are ideal as a read-along for adults who love reading to children. His first book, 'Fool's Gold' was shortlisted in the children's category at the Isle of Wight Book Awards 2022. Alan has now written 2 Lottie Baxter mystery detective books - 'Fool’s Gold' and 'Maddie the Baddie' and is currently writing the next in the series called ‘King Kev’. Writing stories that capture the imagination of children and children-at-heart is Alan’s aim and he certainly does that in his good old-fashioned Lottie Baxter adventures. He’s always dreaming up new characters for his stories and often wakes in the middle of the night with a great idea for a plot!
