Alyssa Burnette is an author and scholar who specializes in Victorian Literature and Gender Studies. She holds an MA (Hons) in Victorian Literature from the University of Southampton. As a child, Alyssa often concocted excuses to read and write when she should have been doing other things, and today she now engages in her most elaborate deception of all: convincing people that she should be paid to read books and write about them, as if that actually constitutes “work.” When she isn’t basking in the joy of literary pursuits, you can find her spoiling her two kittens, Araminta and Emerson.
