Colin McAdam is a Canadian and British novelist who has written for Harper's, Granta, The Walrus, and numerous other publications. He lived in Hong Kong, Denmark, England and Australia before settling in Canada, and holds a PhD in Literature from Cambridge University. BLACK DOVE is his fourth novel. His third, A BEAUTIFUL TRUTH, won the Rogers Writers' Trust Fiction Prize. It was also a finalist for the Governor General's Literary Award. His first novel, SOME GREAT THING, won the Amazon/Books in Canada First Novel Award and was nominated for the Governor General's Literary Award, the Rogers Writers' Trust Prize, the Commonwealth Writers' Prize, and for the John Llewellyn Rhys Prize in the U.K. His second novel, FALL, was shortlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize and awarded the Paragraphe Hugh MacLennan Prize. He lives with his family in Chelsea, Quebec.
