David Raymond is a Miami native and bestselling author of books set in Florida, a state presenting infinite possibilities for fiction writers to not have to make stuff up. David spent his public service career directing large governmental social service systems, including the Florida Department of Children & Families and the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust. David holds a Master of Science degree in Mental Health Counseling and completed the Harvard University, John F. Kennedy School of Government Executive Education Program. Prior to working in social services, he sold real estate, taught middle school marine biology, managed a pathology laboratory, and was an environmental lab technician testing Miami’s ocean waters. His hobbies include playing guitar, learning banjo, fishing, reading, hiking, and experiencing the wonders of nature. David lives in Biscayne Park, Florida with his mystical wife Amy and their goofy Aussiedoodle, Starry. They are blessed by their extraordinary children, Mia, a gifted psychotherapist, Abraham, a legendary native fishing guide, their wondrous daughter-in-law, Yudith, a teacher and mother, and their magical grandson, Ryder.
