Happy New Year. Welcome to "The Polar Bear and the Dragon," a coming-of-age fantasy adventure for middle graders through adults. I draw inspiration from my readers so please take a moment to share your thoughts. After twenty-four years of lively book discussions with middle grade students and an unusually vivid dream, I began writing "Dawn of an Alliance" in May of 2020. It was published in early 2021, with book 2, "Dream Jumper" following later the same year. "Perilous Passage" completed the trilogy in January of 2023. Whitney & Edward embody the boundless energy and passion for life I admire so much in kids today. When daunting challenges test their fortitude and determination, the tenacious teens turn unfortunate circumstances into unforeseen opportunities. My husband and I, and our two canine companions enjoy discovering new places in our motorhome. Lake Superior and its rugged coast is a favorite destination and the setting for the series. Although written for middle grade readers, I believe the life lessons and strong mother-daughter relationship appeal to a much broader audience. The illustrations by two talented artists, Mark Pate, and new young artist, 'Mindy Indy,' breathe life into the characters and enhance the appeal of her book.
