After a rather peripatetic adult life, Derryl Murphy and his wife have spent more than a decade living in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. He has two adult sons and often wonders how that severe emblem of time snuck up on him so easily. He is a soccer fan, especially of Liverpool, a team he has cheered for since he was a young boy. Derryl's novel math-as-magic Napier's Bones was a nominee for the Aurora Award, and his collection Over the Darkened Landscape was shortlisted for the Sunburst Award for Excellence in Canadian Literature of the Fantastic. He is also the author of the environmental SF collection Wasps at the Speed of Sound.
