Dr. Dellia Evans is a well-respected optometrist who has helped over 250,000 patients maintain eye health over the past 25 years. She is the owner of Odom’s Eye Care-Optical in Jackson, Mississippi which was established in 1947. She is a certified Laser Vision Correction Surgeon. Passionate that every person has healthy physical eyesight, she is equally devoted to sharing spiritual concepts that open eyes to see divine opportunities. Dr. Dellia has been a devoted Christian for 40 years. In the last 10 years, her relationship with Christ has been in transformation, shifting her thinking from seeking divine intervention, to accepting God’s love, support, and power to be the intervention she desired. Due to the consequences of misguided teachings of God’s word, Dr. Dellia was unable to effectively apply God’s principles to her life challenges. Believing there must be a more accurate interpretation of God’s Word, she began a discovery journey which revolutionized her walk with God. Today, she helps women maximize their God-given potential by identifying their spiritual blind spots, clarifying God’s word and opening their eyes to their vast potential. For over a decade, she has invited new believers into her home to help them build and sustain a relationship with Christ. Dr. Dellia served for several years in women’s ministry in home small groups and served as a Singles and Single Again Leader. She has served as a Children’s Church teacher and a Church Pre-teen Youth leader and mentor for girls. Outreach, Alter Care, Prayer Ministries, Youth Sunday School Teacher and Pastor-Parish Relations Committee Chairperson are also part of her ministry experience. Dr. Dellia is a graduate of Faith Bible Institute and called a role model to women. As a Lay Leader she teaches new members how to identify and use their spiritual gifts within the body of Christ and in their personal and professional lives. As a Lay Servant Speaker, she is called upon to teach God’s word during services, and for the Health and Wellness Ministry, Status and Role of Women, and the United Methodist Women. Dr. Dellia hosts speakers from different occupations and backgrounds to her monthly Faith at Work luncheons allowing her staff to be inspired and grow their relationship with Christ and one another. Dr. Dellia shares God’s love through her community by providing eye care services and eyeglasses to four Jackson area nursing homes. Dr. Dellia grew up in Jackson, Mississippi, where she graduated from Forest Hill High School and went on to attend the University of Mississippi on a full Gannett Scholarship. She graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree, with a major in Journalism and a minor in Biology. She received a Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Happily married, she is the wife of Bobby Evans and mother of Jessica and Jonathan.
