E.F. Grossman grew up in Los Angeles, California. In 1967, she accompanied a friend on a journey through Haight-Ashbury, in time to experience the “Summer of Love”. Four years later, the idealistic, young ‘flower child’ met the love of her life, and changed her perception of the world, forever. He was a soldier, and he introduced her to the pain and guilt that all surviving combat soldiers endure. It is their stories of survival that have inspired this book.
