Dear readers, You may have read some of my novels writing as Judy Leigh, uplifting stories of the lives of older women and the possibility of second chances, change and happiness. I also write the Morwenna Mutton/ Seal Bay cozy crime series, set in Conrwall with a sixty-something sleuth who enjoys getting into mischief and solving crime. I'm so excited to write my dual timeline stories under the name of Elena Collins: the name is a tribute to my grandmother who was a teller of stories and fortunes and she had healing hands. These new novels bring together three things I love: delving into rich tales from history, exploring stunning locations and evoking the possibility of the supernatural. They are tales of people’s lives then and now, and there will be some spine-tingling moments. I enjoy writing them so much and I really hope you'll enjoy reading them. The characters and settings are close to my heart. I love writing, travelling, reading, music and theatre. I have an MA in Professional Writing. When I’m away from my desk and my two black cats, you’ll find me researching my next novel in some of this country’s most beautiful locations and beyond. Thank you so much for visiting my page. I look forward to meeting you soon, between the pages of a book. Warmest wishes, EC. x

Featured article: Witches in fiction: 12 historical fiction books to listen to this Halloween

Throughout history, women have been branded as witches by people scared of their power, confidence and independence. In days past, accusations of being a witch – thrown at women for everything from being talented at working with herbs to being in the vicinity of a death – could result in banishment or even death. These 12 audiobooks, perfect for the longer nights, colder weather and the Halloween season, tell the stories of women through history, from goddesses to regular women, through a mix of horror, fantasy and historical fiction.
