Flloyd Kennedy, Liverpool-based, Australian-born actor, singer-songwriter, performance poet, director and voice/speech/accent coach, took part in the British folk revival in the late 1960s, performed street theatre, cabaret and fringe theatre in Scotland throughout the 1980s and 90s, established Golden Age Theatre to tour contemporary and classic theatre throughout Scotland. She returned to Australia in 1996 where she undertook research into the performing voice for her doctoral thesis "Shakespeare's Voice: a theory of the voice in performance" (University of Queensland, 2014). Flloyd has taught voice and acting skills at colleges and universities in the UK, US and Australia. She currently teaches online through her private studio Being in Voice and regularly performs at online Open Mic spoken word and music events. In non-pandemic times she tours her solo verse plays with music around the world. She has two sons, four grandchildren, 1 grand dog and 2 grand kittens, and is a proud member of British Actors Equity.
