I grew up in the wonder and magic of Lake Tahoe, California. My imagination was nurtured as I tromped around among the pine trees, swam in the icy waters of the lake, and rode my bike on dirt roads. During my high school years, my mom and I spent time living in Honolulu, Hawaii, where I tromped around among the palm trees, swam in warm ocean water, and rode the bus down busy city streets. After my graduation from McKinley High School, I went on to secure a bachelor's degree in playwriting from Brigham Young University, and a master's degree in Theater Arts from the University of Minnesota. I came to writing novels later in my life, and the experience has been interesting and joyful. I am married to George and we have two grown children.
