A first-time novelist, James J. Scott was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1969, and raised in the small town of Ridge Spring, South Carolina. After 27 years of military service, James is now a retired US Army lieutenant colonel living and working abroad. He shares an emotionally charged memoir, Changing Faces that begins with a single act of family violence that forever changed his life. James aims for readers to experience his journey alongside him as he travels all over the country and across continents, searching for answers, working to overcome the tragedy and its resultant trauma. He loves reading and writing in foreign lands and spending time with his family.
