Janet Givens was born in northern New Jersey at the beginning of the baby boomer generation. She has both a BS (NYU) and an MA (Kent State, OH) in sociology and spent four years in a PhD political science program. She worked in non-profit development for 25 years until she began her career as a Gestalt psychotherapist, one of the many things she left behind when she joined the Peace Corps. She shares her life with Woody Starkweather in the Green Mountains of Vermont, USA. When she is not writing, she sings in both the local community chorus and hospice chorus, digs in the soil somewhere on her 30 acres, edits the five novels her husband wrote while in the Peace Corps, and enjoys being Grandma Janet to five. She welcomes reader feedback on her blog (www.janetgivens.com) and her Facebook Author Page (Janet_Givens_Author) and she posts regularly on Facebook (givensj48). Oh yes; she loves that she is her dog Sasha's favorite human.
