Juan Carlos Torres is a Colombian writer who describes himself as "a spiritual traveler and an inquirer of the mysteries of the universe." He holds a law degree with a specialization in international relations and has extensive experience in contemporary Colombian history. Torres served as the director of speeches for two Colombian presidents and worked as a counselor at the Colombian Embassy in the United States. He has received recognition for his literary work, winning the First Fernando Soto Aparicio National Short Story Contest and becoming a finalist in various national and international literary awards. His publications include the poetry collection "Sueño y Eternidad" as well as "Operación Jaque: La Verdadera Historia," printed in Spain and several Latin American countries and translated into French and Portuguese. He also authored "El Gran Libro del Bicentenario" and "Una Conversación Pendiente," the latter in collaboration with former Colombian president and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Juan Manuel Santos. In his most recent book, "Soy Búho," Torres explores personal development, spirituality, and esotericism themes. In this testimonial work, he aims to bring the discussion of sacred plants and medicines, entheogens, and psychedelics, along with their profound messages, to the forefront of public debate.
