Mansoor Ahmed is an Honorary Lecturer in the Strategic and Defense Studies Centre, Australian National University. He holds a PhD in International Relations from Quaid-i-Azam University where he was a Lecturer in the Department of Defense and Strategic Studies from 2011-2015. He worked as a Senior Fellow in the Center for International Strategic Studies (CISS) Islamabad from 2018-2022 and was as a civil servant from 2003-2011 in the Pakistan Audit & Accounts Service. He has held fellowships with the Managing the Atom Project/International Security Program at the Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center from 2015-2018 (Stanton Nuclear Security Junior Faculty Fellow and Post-doctoral Research Fellow) and with the Cooperative Monitoring Center, Sandia National Laboratories in 2013. His research interests include various aspects of Pakistani and Indian nuclear programs, policies, and emerging force postures, fissile materials, military modernization, and South Asian strategic stability issues. His research work has been published by the Belfer Center, the Stimson Center, Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
