Mila has one YA historical novel finished and ready to publish, "The Four Thieves", along with several children’s picture books. She also has three provocative upmarket women's fiction novels almost completed. Mila's book, "From Cowgirl to Congress", about her famous suffragette grandmother, Jessie Haver Butler, celebrates women winning the right to vote in the U.S. on August 1918, 1920. Jessie was there on the front lines with Carrie Chapman Catt and Alice Paul as the 1st woman lobbyist in D.C. and worked for the movement. Before that, in 1911, she put together the Pulitzer School of Journalism at Columbia University. Jessie later opened a series of speech classes and taught thousands of women public speaking. She often spoke alongside Eleanor Roosevelt who enthusiastically endorsed Jessie's classes and invited Jessie to bring her students to the White House to practice their speeches. When Jessie was in her early 90s, Mila followed her around as she shared the podium, several times, with Gloria Steinem, Marlo Thomas, and Jane Fonda. Mila is now a professional public speaker—trained by Jessie. Mila lives on her organic citrus ranch in Northern California with her husband and three dogs.
