About Peter Perkins. Peter was the son of a banker, born in 1940 in Miles, Queensland. The family was regularly on the move as father was transferred for advancement around small western towns, all serving the cattle and sheep industries, before moving to Cairns in the tropical north of the state. Peter received his higher education in boarding school and joined a Bank which kept him moving around the state as his father before him. Now retired in Redcliffe, Peter is an active member of several writer's and author's groups and continues to write, poems, short stories and novels. His trilogy, THE ADAM MANN SERIES is based on the real life story of a Cairns school friend who left school at 14 in hand-me-down riding boots and a battered Akubra hat to chase cattle. Years later when inspecting a cattle property for a Bank loan, Peter met Adam, stripped to the waist, digging post hole by hand - 6'4'' of shrink-wrapped muscle, sinew and bone, two axe handles wide across his shoulders. Adam's life story unfolded that day and was recalled years later to become the background to THE ADAM MANN SERIES trilogy. Adam was transmogrified by Peter's to his old stamping ground around Miles and Condamine and although the avarice, jealousy and hate were real enough, the action was added to make them exciting, page turning novels.
