Robert McGowan was born and raised in the West End of Glasgow Scotland where he still lives. Robert's love affair with Porsche began we he stumbled upon an 86 911 Targa Sport when he was twelve years old and he has been a bit obsessed with Porsche ever since. Robert realized his dream of Porsche ownership in 2007 when he purchased his first Porsche-an 86 Targa Sport and since then has owned a Boxster S' and a 911 type 993 which he still owns today. Robert wanted to share his knowledge and experience with those people who dream of owning a Porsche but believe them to be too expensive to buy and run. His first book 'Porsche 911:The Practically Free Supercar has become a best seller along with several of his other books-some of which are written under pen names. His Porsche book has been featured in many of the main Porsche publications and forums including rennlist, ddk, flat 6, Pistonheads, 911UK, Porsche Club America, Tipec, Purely Porsche and many others including Jay Lenos Garage. Robert continues to write books on a variety of topics. Porsche HQ in Stuttgart requested copies of Roberts Porsche books and they proudly present them in their Library for staff and customers to read. Robert believes that Porsche cars should be driven and he loves nothing more driving his Porsche through the mountainous Scottish countryside.
