Samana Sajan uses her words as a platform to detach from the bondage of worldly endeavours into the realm of conscious thought. She is a versatile poet, actress, and visionary. Publishing over twenty poems and articles both in Canada and internationally; she stands as the co-editor of G-Asia Worldwide Magazine and a board member and Director of Youth Initiatives for the Face of Dignity; a Canadian non-profit organization that promotes universal education, legal aid, and artistic expression for underprivileged, disenfranchised, and marginalized women. Born in Toronto, Ontario, and coming from Ugandan, Guyanese, and Indian heritage, her poetry is infused with the holy waters of these fertile roots. She took to writing at a very young age, and ever since her pen has taught her how to heal. Samana continues to weave the tapestry of her poetry and experiences together to chronicle her journey and her story, as seen in her upcoming book I Spoke with the Moon, and this is What She Told Me, releasing on August 1st, 2019. As a pupil of knowledge through art, Samana seeks to stir the inner consciousness from latency to its awakened state by way of poetry.
