Sarah Small is a lawyer who embarked on a transformative journey after being diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2010. Her life took an unexpected turn when she discovered her husband's infidelity, which, along with ill-advised prescriptions triggered her first manic episode. In the wake of this upheaval, she made the difficult decision to leave her law practice behind and start anew. Upon her return from Bali where this manuscript was first written, she sought solace and a fresh beginning, and she relocated to a different state, hoping to distance herself from the painful memories. However, her search for peace led her even further, ultimately prompting a move to a new country. Despite her best efforts, the spectre of mania remained a constant foe throughout her journey. It took thirteen years of introspection, self-discovery, and personal growth after each additional debilitating episode for her to finally come to terms with her condition. Through her experiences, she has gained invaluable insights into the challenges and triumphs of living with bipolar disorder, which she now shares with others in the hopes of fostering understanding, empathy, and resilience in the face of adversity.
