Tom Avitabile’s novels are based on his experiences working with the House Committee on Science Space and Technology. In that role, he was tasked with imagining the “next step.” When the contract ended, his imagining didn't. His experiences and threat assessments became the plots, characters and circumstances of all his novels. His background in film, screenwriting and as a director helped him in visualizing his stories and propelling their storylines. His joy is bringing the human element into our 'technosapien' world - through his indelibly drawn characters and their trials and tribulations. His guiding principle is, "It's Only Fiction 'Til It Happens." Recently, his latest novel “Give Us This Day” had a second life as a repeat #1 bestseller. That spawned an offer to sell those rights for an audio version in production now. Two of his #1 bestsellers are now being published as mass market paperbacks. Another source of joy for Tom is the mentoring new and established authors which has been a rewarding way for him to pay-it-forward. And, as a result of an online reading of his work for the Mystery Writers of America, prodigious author Joe Badal sought out Tom to narrate his thriller, Ultimate Betrayal.
