Summary
Faisel: I've always felt the pressure to succeed, but instead of the conventional path, one that my family wanted, I chose music. As the drummer for Wayward Lane, I've experienced all the highs and lows of rockstar life including addiction. Now there's another battle I'm facing—my intense feelings for my best friend and bandmate, Ronin Stadler. We grew up together, inseparable to this day but our lifelong bond is shifting. Do I keep my feelings a secret or risk our friendship for something more?
Ronin: Growing up in a home that was anything but stable, music was my escape and Faisel Reed, my rock. My friendship with him has grounded me, weathering the craziness of rockstar life. But lately, he's been pulling away and for the first time in a long time, I'm scared. The thought of losing him makes me look at our relationship in a whole new light.
One that looks a lot like forever.
4-Ever is a best friends to lovers, hurt/comfort, MM rockstar romance filled with magnetic chemistry, lifelong love, and a HEA fit for rockstar soulmates.

This Series Rocked! Excellent Story, Characters & Listen🎧
It is great to be back in Ava Olsen’s “Wayward Lane” world again for another amazing MM rockstar romance, a friends-to-lovers romance that rocks your world. This book is Faisel & Ronin’s story, and the two go way back, so not only do we get their story, but we go back to the start of the band, which I absolutely loved. Faisel and Ronin’s journey to one another was not always an easy one, but I loved being along for the ride. The story is captivating from start to end and the writing, plot and world building are fantastic, as are the character growth and development. There is never a dull moment in the book, and the story is entertaining, with a perfect balance of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, and steamy romance. This entire series is amazing, and this book brings us full circle, and I hope it is not the last we see of these characters. Ava Olsen, thank you for this fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧Zachary Zaba did a fabulous job bringing these characters to life and did so with a complete understanding of who he was portraying, giving each their own distinct voice, making it easy to follow along and tell who is who. He set the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling each one. Zaba is an entertaining storyteller and his performance elevated this already amazing story to another level. Thank you for another fantastic listen

solid
A sensitive narrator who is good at emotions and splitting up and maintaining different voices. The story had a good plot and was a nice ending to this series. It did rather irritate me that most of the characters kept having different opinions about the potential relationship between the MCs, including the MCs themselves. If they are pushing you to get together, then pushing you to stay apart on a constant see-saw, that will never solve the mutual pining. Still an enjoyable listen.

An enjoyable friends-to-lovers read
Life isn’t easy when 1. You’re a rock and roll star and 2. You’re in love with your best friend. Faisel and Ronin are in this predicament. With each other, no less.
Ronin rescued Faise from a schoolyard bully when they were just kids – but that cemented a friendship that lasted through many trials and tribulations. I enjoyed the structure of this story – it starts from that initial meeting and then drops in at various key, and important, moments in their lives. Watching the strength of the friendship made the evolution into romantic feelings more believable.
Man, the angst in this book. There’s a lot going on – both for the two MCs as well as some of the secondary characters. Good storytelling wove those pieces together into what I found was an enjoyable book. Now, this was book 3 and I somehow missed book 2, but I wasn’t lost at all. I just was treated to a really good story.
Zachary Zaba is a favorite of mine and I thought he did a great job with this friends-to-lovers love story. Definitely recommend.

Friendship, love and music
This book by Ava Olsen is a poignant journey through the highs and lows of rockstar life, exploring themes of friendship, love, and the courage to face one's true feelings. The third instalment in the Wayward Lane series, this MM romance novel delves into the complex relationship between Faisel and Ronin, childhood friends whose bond is tested by the challenges of fame, addiction, and unspoken love. With a narrative that's as much about the music as it is about the characters' personal struggles and triumphs, "4-Ever" offers readers a heartfelt story of lifelong love and the pursuit of happiness against all odds.
Zachary Zaba did a good job giving life to these characters.

MM romance that rocks to the very end
❥ MM contemporary romance
❥ Rockstars/Band mates
❥ Best Friends to Lovers
❥ Hurt/Comfort
❥ Slow Burn
❥ Found family
❥ Addiction/substance abuse
If you've read books 1 and 2 you'll have been waiting for Ronin and Faisel's HEA since practically the beginning of the series, but what sets this book out as one you can read by itself even if you're not already familiar with the band is the way it's written - spanning several decades - you get to see these boys (all 4 of them) become friends as kids, start their careers, become stars, and suffer various setbacks along the way. I loved it - and friends to lovers is far from my favourite trope! The hurt/comfort, the pining, and the spice are all perfectly pitched and there's plenty of plot other than Faisal's buried feelings for his best friend (but I won't elaborate for spoilers!). I can't wait for the spinoffs as there are so many other characters around the band who are begging to have their own stories. The audiobook is great, steadily paced and beautifully performed by Zachary Zaba.

Brilliant audio! I loved it!
“You know no matter what, we’re always gonna be best friends. Always. Nothing changes that.”
The Wayward Lane series by Ava Olsen ends with Fais and Ronin's story, and boy, is it a story you don't want to miss.
I listened to the audio, and Zachary Zaba did an amazing job portraying these characters. If you're searching for your next listen, then I highly recommend you check out this fantastic audiobook.
Faisel and Ronin meet as young boys and become best friends immediately.
As this is the last book in the Wayward Lane series, 4-ever takes us through Fais and Ro meeting as children, becoming instant best friends, to them sharing all that life throws at them through the years, from family dramas to health issues, all of it side by side.
We see the music lovers meet Brodie and Holls at school, forming the band, soaring to stardom, and all the ups and downs that come with fame, including Fais's addiction.
And be prepared for all the pining as Fais falls in love with his best friend.
There are years of pining for poor Fais, and whilst we see Ronin's jealousy when Fais tries to move on, it's years before he realises his own feelings for his best friend.
It hurt to see these two drift slightly from each other, as Fais tried to put distance between them, and I've never been as glad as I was to see them reveal their true feelings 🙌😍
Fais and Ro are electric together. The chemistry is off the scale! And I loved how they were all-in once they'd admitted their feelings. It was the perfect conclusion for the series.
'It wasn’t an exaggeration to say that kissing Faise was the best thing that had happened to me in my adult life. And I’d experienced a lot of highs over the past twenty years.'
I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Faisel and Ronin's story, and once I started listening, I found I didn't want to pause for anything!
Emerse yourself in the Wayward Lane world with this fantastic audio. You won't regret it!

An engaging and emotional rockstar romance
Once again, Wayward Lane has blown me away with an incredible love story, this time Ronin and Faisel's. This book chronicled their journey from the first day of their childhood friendship through awkward teenage years, early rockstar debauchery, and eventually their romantic relationship. Ava Olsen dug deep with each of these characters, and I was stunned by how quickly I felt like I knew them inside and out. By walking me through their formative years, I didn't have the awkward information dumping or rushed catching up that sometimes makes it hard for me to relate to the main characters, and that made a world of difference when the narrative caught up to the present day.
Ronin and Fasiel had the type of friendship that runs bone-deep, an unshakeable foundation that only comes from standing by each other through years of life's ups and downs. The only complication that terrified each of them was bringing love and romance into their relationship and potentially risking it all. Throughout their twenties, that unwillingness to mess with the status quo sent both men into their most reckless and hedonistic pursuits, two rockstars in their prime partying it up and avoiding their growing feelings for each other. It was hard for me to watch Fasiel snort his way into oblivion, to see Ronin take man after man to his bed, but at that time the two of them weren't ready for each other. In true rockstar fashion, their journeys hit some staggering highs only to crash all the way to rock bottom thanks to the unfairness of life. At each low point, Fasiel and Ronin were there for each other, pulling each other up and comforting each other in whatever way the other needed. The two of them convinced me of their love long before they took the first steps down that path, and my god did they take their sweet time getting ready to take that leap of faith. Ronin and Faisel put the slow in slow burn, but every bit of built up frustration was worth it when they finally opened their eyes and reached for each other. Once that switch flipped, there was no going back, and I felt like I was on top of the world watching Ronin and Faisel tackle life together and knowing that their love could get them through whatever challenges it brought. Wayward Lane definitely had its rocky patches after Faisel and Ronin got together, and I stayed present and engaged for all of them. The bonds between all four band members and their loved ones were incredible to experience, and some of the side character storylines had equal depth and impact to the mains. I have so much admiration for the entire band's strength of character, and knowing how much all of them have been through has made their happily-ever-afters even more satisfying. I'm officially a die-hard Wayward Lane lover, and I'm already itching to go back to the beginning and enjoy these stories all over again.
