Summary

The Silicoids are a growing threat from beyond the frontier. Launching waves of crystalline drones, they ravage colonies all along the border of the Empire. Earth has been forced to ally with her enemies against this mysterious alien menace.

Scouts have located a forward base of the freakish creatures, who plot to annihilate all meat-based lifeforms. Earth assembles a joint task force with legions of Rigellian bears, Mogwa battlecruisers, and Saurian troops. Together, they strike as one against Crystal World.

After annoying every superior in his chain of command, James McGill is the first to be deployed on the unexplored planet. His mission: to establish a beachhead on this strange, hostile ground. Surrounded and cut off, his troops fight to the bitter end against creatures made of earth, stone, and jewels.

Find out what happens next in Crystal World, the thrilling 20th book of the Undying Mercenaries series. With millions of copies sold, USA Today Bestselling author B.V. Larson is the king of modern military science fiction.

Just when you settle and think it's going somewhere somewhat predictable.. Nope!

Raash (spelling?) was hilarious this book.

Better but still quite unreasonably clueless.

I left a similar review for the previous book. The Magill character has certainly improved this time. But his cluelessness is still past the point of reasonable. After 100 years of life, there should be more character development than this. It would make the storyline more interesting.

Old reliable

The headline is slightly insulting in as much as it the same old thing again, however if you happen like the same old thing again, then where's the problem? You can't honestly put your hand on your heart and say there was anything new here or that it advanced the narrative in any way as neither of those things happened but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. I think BVL likes a steady income and he's found it here, I know I'll buy the next one when it comes out! It would be nice if he'd at least pretend to move the plot along we've had 20 books and even he will get tired of mooching off James McGill at some point, wont he??

Not as good this time out

Etta marrying a Hog? What will McGill do about that? Murder? Not as funny as the other books either
The plots a little bit thinner as well Boudica seems to be unneeded and adds nothing to the storyline. Galina barely makes an appearance but at least she worms out of becoming Consul of all Earth
