Summary

Having lost her parents at a young age, raised by her beloved uncle, Michele King is now a successful business owner, providing meals for people by day and getting lost in books each night. A somewhat lonely life, which she attempts to remedy by dating a man she met online. It only takes a few dates before she sees red flags. Breaking things off with a man she barely knows should be easy. But he’s not taking no for an answer.
Declan James moved to small-town Lindeman, Washington, to be near his former Delta Force teammates, men he considers his brothers. His focus should be on their new business, Mercy Ring, a boxing club specializing in giving locals—especially kids—a safe place to exorcise their anger and aggression. But instead, he finds his mind stuck on a certain shy local. Quiet and reserved, Michele is the polar opposite of the women he’s dated. And he can’t get her out of his head.
He's happy to get to know Michele at her own slow pace, until danger rears its head in the form of an angry ex. Now, Declan has no choice but to stay close if he doesn’t want their fledgling relationship to end before it’s barely begun.

I was lucky enough to recieve an ARC for this book, and it has to be one of my favourites. This book is fast paced, full of danger and intrigue, but it also has fantastic scenes displaying the importance of family and friendship.
Not to mention the perfect level of steam, this couple are fantastic together. I really cannot wait to read the next book. 5* series.
The audible narration really gave this book an even greater edge. one of my favourite Nyssa books :)

New favourite book boyfriend 😍
I adored the characters and the narrators did such a great job bringing them to life.
I loved how Michelle and Declan came together so easily early on with them both being clear about their feelings, and how the book then focused on their relationship building and growing throughout the story. Stella Bloom did a great job portraying Michelle’s nervousness at having feelings for someone and the scene in the hospital with her uncle were tear jerking.
Anthony was such a happy surprise as a character, I loved the twists he brought to the book and how he brought out such protective instincts in Michelle. The love of the people surrounding her was so honest and plentiful it really came off the pages and her fears about loss were heartbreakingly real.
I loved how tenacious Declan was and how he kept pushing even when faced with push back, being so sure of his feelings and their chance at a future. Tim Paige did so well showing the depth of feeling he had for Michelle as well as the unending patience and willingness to go at her speed but never let her go.
Exciting drama and suspense filled story outside the romance and definitely some twists and turns to keep you on your toes.

Declan & Michele
Declan by Nyssa Kathryn has everything you’d expect in the protector genre and more: suspense, found family, seggsy scenes and small town shenanigans. What’s not to love?
Tim Paige and Stella Bloom are amazing as Declan and Michele.

Mercy Ring Book 2 - Declan and Michele
This book focuses on Declan and Michele after teasing their relationship in the first Mercy Ring Book, Jackson. Declan and Michele are completely different to Jackson and River and Stella Bloom & Tim Paige do a great job separating the characters in the narration. The tension between them crackles; Michele is a total romantic and Declan is a great match for her. Michele is very likeable as she is a self confessed people pleaser but she's also independent; its easy to see how she brings out Declan's protective instincts. I also loved seeing her relationship with Ryker as well as she was also affected by the events in book one.
I also enjoyed the mystery of the stalker plotline after it was hinted at in book one; these books work really well as a series as although they could be read as standalones the interconnections definitely pay off. I'm looking forward to Cole's story next!
