Summary
From the #1 New York Times bestselling author Brandon Sanderson comes the final book in an epic series about a girl who will travel beyond the stars to save the world she loves from destruction.
Spensa made it out of the Nowhere, but what she saw in the space between the stars has changed her forever. She came face to face with the Delvers, and finally got answers to the questions she's had about her own strange Cytonic gifts.
The Superiority didn't stop in it's fight for galactic dominance while she was gone, though. Spensa's team, Skyward Flight, was able to hold Winzik off, and even collect allies to help with the cause, but it's only a matter of time until humanity - and the rest of the galaxy - falls.
Defeating them will require all the knowledge Spensa gathered while in the Nowhere. But being Cytonic is more complicated than she ever could have imagined. Now, Spensa must ask herself: how far is she willing to go for victory, if it means losing herself - and her friends - in the process.
The final book in the Skyward series will free humanity, or see it fall forever.

Good end........Or beginning?
I've been waiting for this last book in the series to drop into my audio ibrary. I was excited and eager to listen to it.
Read by Sophie Aldred (a great choice) Spenca's latest escapades come to life. How can she overcome the Delvers and all the rest of the enemy, save her friends and herself. I enjoyed the book, am glad that the ending wasn't really an ending, and am heartened to know that more books set in this world and with these characters will come on due course.
I'm by no means YA audience, but still enjoyed it.

so much so 50 minutes from the end I was balling my eyes out.

A satisfying end to the series
I think there was less novelty here, than in the previous books. But it was comforting to return to all the beloved characters. Great narration, as before.

Great performance, ok conclusion
I’ve enjoyed this series right up until the near sex scene in this book, which I found added nearly nothing to the story and very sadly makes it unsuitable for my 11 year old who has loved all the other books. I do appreciate we’re perhaps not the intended YA audience but for a set of work that has been so good to screen and pass to my strong reader without content concerns it was disappointing.
As a conclusion to the series it’s fine, nothing particularly awe inspiring like some of Sanderson’s other work and I found some of the romance tiresome.
Sophie Aldred gives an excellent narrative performance even if I occasionally mentally slip back to watching Dr Who in the late 80s and have to rewind a few seconds I missed whilst reminiscing, but that’s probably just me.

A good YA series
This book ended the first arc of the skyward series well. It’s clear by the ending that there’s still so much yet to come. These characters are far from finished and I’m excited to see where the series goes from here. Like many I do agree because it’s only an ending, it lost the gravity it needed to finish strong. I didn’t feel as strongly as I usually do at the end of a Sanderson book or series, but I still had a good time and will be happy to read the next one.

Wasn't sold at first but got me in the end
Tbh the skyward books on their own tell an incomplete story. But with the Skyward flight books and this as a final Sanderson has only gone and pulled it together. So many great moments in this book it's impossible to say what the best was.

It’s a YA series, but still fun
It’s a YA series but as long as you know that going into it, you can still enjoy it for what it is. I’ve read everything Sanderson has written and while I prefer the titles for more season adults, I took on this series as a little diversion. No regrets in reading it it’s still fun.
