About this listen
The Hollywood screen legend brings his wit, insight, entertaining stories and wisdom to answer questions about every aspect of his long life - inspiring us all to Be More Michael Caine.
I'm always asked questions - by fans, by other actors and friends, by my grandchildren. They want to know how I've lasted so long, how I handle fame, why I chose to do some of my films, which films and actors I like best and so forth.
They also want to know what makes me tick, what makes me get up in the morning in my 90s, and whether I'll ever retire. (The answer to that one is "No!")
Over a long life, I've learnt a lot and had the opportunity to reflect. I've seen a new generation grow up, among them my own grandchildren, facing the world with all its challenges and problems.
I hope they'll find Don't Look Back, You'll Trip Over: My Guide to Life helps them to be optimistic - and shows that anyone can blow the bloody doors off.
An iconic book, from one of our best-loved actors: this is Michael Caine at his very best.

So so enjoyable.
Excellent in all the ways an audio book should be. The conversational style really generates some wonderful images to the words and thoughts from Michael. Lovely insights into is family centred life. And I didn't know Michael Caine has a photographic memory. This is particularly interesting to me, because I met him once very briefly. I very much doubt he would remember, but I treasure the meeting. Thank you to all the folks involved with this production.

Decent enough
Michael Caine is a great actor and person no doubt. Loved his previous bios. This was ok. Eddie did a great job narrating but it just got a bit samey after a while. You soon get a bit irritated with the constant Oscar wins and family pride repetition. Advice was good and certainly relatable. Overall glad I listened but doubt I’ll revisit unlike his previous bios which were brilliant especially being read by MC.
That said MC is a solid character and engaging bloke through and through.

The different format to his previous 3 audiobiographies
The new format was interesting.
If i really had to pick one con (against all the pros), it would be that michael didn't provide all his own audio parts .

Michael is a legend!
Michael is a true legend, not just as a movie star, actor but as a genuinely kind, inspirational human being! This book is motivational and aspiring! I now feel incredibly grateful for my own life experiences and excited to look forward to the future. Thank you Michael, for sharing.

The wonderful Michael does it again .. and again
Oh gosh I could listen to Michael Caine read the phone book and be entranced .. So I was a little apprehensive when I found out Eddie Marsan was reading this latest book .. tbf Michael is in his 90’s! However I needn’t have been, Eddie does a wonderful job bringing Michael’s anecdotes & advice to life .. simply put I loved this book & am planning on sharing with my children as it’s so pertinent. Buy and enjoy.. it’s great.

A great story and Actor but the narrator just wasn't right for me...
I have always had great respect for Michael Caine as an Actor but mostly as a wise sage like realistic around good guy. I've read his prior books too and was looking forward to this latest. Alas, for me the choice of narrator spoils this one, although he reads well with an accent too close to the author, all I can hear is someone trying to do an impression. So sadly I will be unlikely to finish this one, which is a shame.
