Summary

As the world teeters on the brink of the First World War, Harry Brigandshaw's life is forever changed in this sweeping and evocative sequel, Elephant Walk, the second in the Brigandshaw Chronicles.

As 1907 dawns, Harry Brigandshaw, a promising young graduate, faces a future of limitless possibilities. During a tranquil Dorset summer, love blossoms with Lucinda St Clair, casting its spell over their idyllic days. Yet destiny turns unexpectedly when a distressing telegram calls Harry back to Africa - to Elephant Walk.

Forgetting Lucinda, Harry grapples with his new future. Soon after his return, the Brigandshaws host English strangers on safari, and Harry learns of their mutual acquaintance, Fishy Braithwaite - a bitter adversary from Oxford, now engaged to the beautiful Sara?

Years later, as war engulfs Europe, Harry enlists in the Royal Flying Corps, under the vengeful command of Fishy. As the conflict deepens, Harry's relationships with Fishy, Sara, and his first love, Lucinda, become entwined, culminating in a shocking event...

Another trip of exqisite nostalgia and memories

Again another wonderfull story with so poignant memories and accurate historical content. A great book slightly overshadowed by the narrators unfamiliarity with the pronounciations of names and places.
