Summary

The battle grows dire. The death toll rises. The end is nigh.

Natisse, believing Kullen has fallen to a traitor’s blade, fights on to honor his memory and to complete his final mission: to save their Empire from the enemy fleet threatening destruction. Together with Golgoth, she must stand before the very fires of Hell to protect the city and people she has come to love.

Kullen, gravely wounded, finds himself dragged back from the brink of death. But if the gods are kind, he might just find allies to aid in his battle to avenge the dead and hold the chaos-gripped city together in the most unexpected of places.

United by common purpose, they and all of Dimvein must stand strong—or face total annihilation at the hands of a power older and crueler than even the dragons they command.

Golden Flames is the final installment in Dragonblood Assassin from number one Audible and Washington Post best seller Jaime Castle and epic fantasy legend Andy Peloquin, perfect for fans of the Forgotten Realms, Joe Abercrombie, David Dalglish, and Kel Kade.

Castle and Peloquin will return with a brand-new series in the Dragonblood World in 2024.

dragons!

one of the best depictions of dragons, book filled with action and schemes, and memorable characters. however, I am was not convinced by the way the emperor's grandsons role and character development (or the lack of it)

Satisfying end to this arc

I enjoyed the way the characters each have their strengths and part to play in the battle against (so many!) enemies.
The two narrators are great and I’m glad they stuck with the series til their character arcs finish.

Explosive Fantasy at its est

I finally got round to finishing this explosive series, and damn Andy Peloquin and Jaime Castle have hit it out of the ball park with this cracking conclusion to one of the best series I've had the pleasure of reading over the last couple of years.

Golden Flames is the fourth and final book in the Dragonblood Assassins series, co-written by two authors on top of their game, bringing their two minds together to create a beautiful dark world for us fantasy fans to drown ourselves with big ass dragons, blood thirsty assassin's and one hell of an adventure with our favourite characters.

Golden Flames is packed to hilt with big enthralling battles, lots of stabby action, and magic on display. The scene descriptions, the fighting, the intrigue, mystery, and twist and turns are astonishingly sublime.

What I absolutely love about this series is the humorous scenes throughout giving you good feel moments as the characters are put through the ringer when all the odds are against them. For two authors to get together and create something of this magnitude and amazing is truly incredible.

If the rumours are true, my absolute favourite band of misfits is getting their own series. The Tatterwolves were an absolutely fantastic addition to this series, and I look forward to seeing how they came about and all their background stories. So we will have more to read co-written by these two Grimlords.

War has come to Dimvein with devastating effect. Our hero and Emperorers knife Kullen has been badly injured. Betrayed and left for dead finds himself in the shadow realm hanging on by a thread, hoping he can get back and bring bloody vengeance on the one he thought as family.

Natisse is devastated thinking that Kullen has been taken and killed. Anger and fire are literally bursting to get out of her, and with the help of her dragon Golgoth, she aims that wrath at those who have brought murder, dark magic, and destruction across the city.

Will Dimvein and its people survive the onslaught and betrayal by the invaders and those thought to be friends. Will our heroes, the Crimson Fang, and Tatterwolves pull off the impossible and save their beloved city? Check it out, and you won't regret it.

It was a fantastic ending to an amazing series. If you haven't checked out any of Andy Peloquin and Jaime Castle books yet, you should remedy that and add to your tbr pile. I very highly recommended..😁🏹🔥🗡🐲🐉

Loved it

Loved it and all the others before. Often laughed out loud and almost cried. This is a book that you need to read in sequence. It’s a pity they have ended this series

How incredibly stupid all characters are.

Weakest plot twist imaginable. Absolutely atrociously written villain. The positives: all the books were free.
