lots of helpful exercises
The book also describes the characteristics of individuals facing trauma, many of which I could relate to. One aspect that proved beneficial was a detailed list of calming activities to distract your mind from trauma and alleviate anxiety. Mending a Broken Heart
I've carried a lot of baggage from my past. It's been hard to move on and feel happy. This book felt like having a wise therapist guiding you through your feelings. It talks about how past trauma can affect us as adults and how to heal from it. There's a part about setting boundaries that really resonated with me. I've always had a hard time saying no, but this book helped me see that it's okay to prioritize myself.

Insightful
A well-written, and researched book on inner child healing. The narrator, Samantha, has a soothing and engaging voice. I appreciated the author describing each of the "inner child" types as well as the different archetypes of trauma victims. The CBT tools really help with digging deep and addressing the issues you uncover while doing this work. I also appreciate Jo stating the importance of getting help from an actual therapist because, as Jo says, you can only do so much of the work on your own. With that being said, this is a great resource to use to get started. Highly recommend.
