About this listen

Former CID detective Scott Jericho is done with murder. Done with puzzles. Done with the dark rage that seems to haunt him.

That is until a vicious serial killer targets someone close to him.

Now Jericho is back, his thirst for justice remorseless.

But time is running out. Fortune tellers and psychics are being slaughtered and everything points to a link with a live TV event due to be broadcast on Halloween night. But what is the significance of the macabre wax effigies found at every crime scene? Why is celebrity psychic Darrel Everwood convinced he will die in four days time? And is Jericho's lover Harry really involved in the murders?

As a startling truth is revealed and an old enemy re-emerges, a murder beyond imagining is about to be come the media event of the century...

Gripping and full of twists

Brilliant second book to the series! Great narration, and a story that will keep you guessing right until the end. Looking forward to the next instalment

Mystics and murder galore.

We all love a good idiot and the psychics make the best because they live on the gullibility of desperate people so when the book opens with a TV ghost hunters show setting up next to Jericho’s fairground, things are off to a flying start. As with the first book, the plot is twisty and intelligent with a couple of fiendish twists!

Outstanding.

I have been looking forward to this sequel ever since I finished the last page of Killing Jerhico. It is a delight from first to last page and I'm sure I'll be in early for the next part in this series too!

The authors extensive background work and wonderfully worked plot leads to a detective book that keeps you guessing, and second and third guessing every solution. A great many paths are planned formulated on a life experience of carnivals and a great deal of research beyond. I'm not even sure I had the potential suspects narrowed down until the latest stages and then the finale caught me completely off guard yet was clearly carefully planned and not some idle deux ex machina solution. Well worth a read and a highlight too.

Of the many aspects threaded through the book from prison experiences and police practices and the r8vher tapestry of victims and criminals, it is the authoritarive narrative that hooks me in throughout. The author does not dictate the carnival experiences but here the thread is at its strongest. I delight in hearing the careful use of secret language, even the admission of some of it being a mystery to the main character. Alongside the language and a way to keep descriptions both keen and relevant yet conjure such amazing imagery. Absolutely loved this aspect, nor is it limited to carnival rides or maintenance or setup and teardown. A surprising and detailed description of a fight early on had me wince everytime the shoulder injury was poked and prodded. Visceral and vibrant.

Oh and that epilogue along with a few earlier loose ends left untied.... Can not wait for the next.

Well done Mister Hussey - more Jerhico please!

Couldn't put it down!

A fantastic sequel in the Jericho story. Always kept me guessing and yet again only saw the truth when it was revealed. So many interesting suspects and possibilities but the clues were there the whole time. Couldn't recommend highly enough! Finished in a day. Couldn't put it down! Can't wait for the next one!

Not really a free standing book …

I think you need to know the first book before this one makes much sense. Tiresome labouring over sexuality of the hero,
