About this listen
Alex Carlisle owes a debt beyond cash. Once upon a time - all of three months ago - Alex found himself in a foreign land hunted by mercenaries and demon lords. Only the intervention of a sultry, playful jinn got him home again. Zafirah didn't help him for free. Now she's come to collect.
With her sights set on a dangerous family of ancient sorcerers, Zafirah needs every edge. She needs not only Alex, but the friends and lovers he brings with him. Her quest threatens to extract a price from angel, demon, and mortal alike...and most especially the witch who brought them all together.

Characters merged.
The story is great and fills in a lot of blank spots that were seeded years ago, fantastically. My main issue with this book is that characters aren't consistent with who they were in past books. Alex is and always has been an SJW, Rachel shares his values but has the chains of heaven holding her back. Lorelei was cold to Alex's concerns but thaws as the series went on. His friends (Witches included) back him when it's called for, but stop him when he crosses a line. Ideologically they were a mixed bag but not in this book. When it came to sharing their values they became a hive mind. This heavily impacts Alex because their picking away at his core character trait. And weakened their interactions with new characters, as their all made the same kind of points regardless of who they were talking to.
The story itself was really good. Supporting characters lacked diversity.

Story migrates to porn
I absolutely loved the first book. The second was story focused and pretty good. This 3rd book is poor, lacking a logic to the story and focused on graphic sex.
