Summary
A troubled teenage boy named Jake finds his life chambered with confusion and a secret, loveless misery. Jake finds no memory of his childhood as he grew up with his adoptive mother, Melanie, in a run-down part of the city.
With no parents and a helicopter foster mom named Melanie constantly hovering his shoulder, he is sure no clarity would come to his life. He seems to see the world through a pity lens that focuses on things most people are quick to look away at, at least, until he meets Eva.
One day Eva floats into Jake’s life, and things seem to finally take a turn for him. It seemed, perhaps, at the very same time he started having visitations at night and wondered less about how he couldn’t remember his parents?
In a twist on Romeo and Juliet, a sequence of events sets into motion, and Jake struggles to save his love while he is haunted by inner voices that taunt him, “You will be punished.”
Does love conquer all, and can it transcend death?
