About this listen

'I am Rosie. I have BPD. I am not an attention-seeker, manipulative, dangerous, hopeless, unlovable, "broken", "difficult to reach" or "unwilling to engage". I am caring, creative, courageous, determined, full of life and love.'

Talking About BPD is a positive, stigma-free guide to life with borderline personality disorder (BPD) from award-winning blogger Rosie Cappuccino.

Addressing what BPD is, the journey to diagnosis and available treatments, Rosie offers advice on life with BPD and shares practical tips and DBT-based techniques for coping day to day. Topics such as how to talk about BPD to those around you, managing relationships and self-harm are also explored. Throughout, Rosie shares her own experiences and works to dispel stigma and challenge the stereotypes often associated with the disorder.

This much-needed, hopeful guide will offer support, understanding, validation and empowerment for all living with BPD, as well as those who support them.

The best book I’ve read about BPD

As someone with diagnosed BPD, nothing has ever hit the nail on the head for me as much as this book, it feels like o could have written it myself it was so uncannily accurate. I really hope others can learn what it’s like to have BPD from this book. And for those reading this who also have BPD I’m sure they’ll find it as helpful and insightful as I did.

understanding of bpd

I downloaded this to try and understand bpd be cause of someone I love has it and this is easily the best way to understand how someone can be towards you when they have bpd and for me its the way that my friend is pushing me away from him (with a relationship) due to not wanting me to feel hurt with how they cope with having bpd

Sure is stigma free

I love the way the book emphasised on common BPD stereotypes and proved them untrue. Felt like I wasn't alone after reading it. Great incorporation of DBT skills.

This book has helped me understand and embrace my BPD

I’m so grateful for this book. I have been diagnosed with BPD recently and this has opened my eyes to an unstigmatised version of my diagnosis and I’m so thankful for reading it! If you or a loved one has been diagnosed I highly recommend it.

The only bpd book worth reading.

I felt incredibly understood within the first 30 minutes and need everyone in my life to read this book. I will be purchasing a copy of the book, highlighting and adding comments so I can share the book with family members who believe all the bad they have already heard about BPD. I will never stop recommending this book! Huge help for me - I have had no support from any services since my diagnosis and this book has given me the motivation (from knowing it is not just me) to put my foot down to health professionals and challenge their neglectful dismissals of me and my problems.
