Summary
What did God use to draw a radical, committed unbeliever to himself? Did God take her to an evangelistic rally? Or, since she had her doctorate in literature, did he use something in print? No, God used an invitation to dinner in a modest home, from a humble couple who lived out the Gospel daily, simply, and authentically.
With this story of her conversion as a backdrop, Rosaria Butterfield invites us into her home to show us how God can use this same “radical, ordinary hospitality” to bring the Gospel to our lost friends and neighbors. Such hospitality sees our homes as not our own but as God’s tools for the furtherance of his kingdom as we welcome those who look, think, believe, and act differently from us into our everyday, sometimes messy lives - helping them see what true Christian faith really looks like.

Try it, even if she’s got some different views to you
Rosaria Butterfield will inspire you to be a more radical Christian. To open your doors, and to love the people around you. She’s talking about essential Acts style Christianity. I’m from a different stream of Christianity and a different nation, so the language and beliefs can come across pretty hard hitting at moments - she doesn’t pull any punches - but whatever kind of Christian you are, I encourage you to read, enjoy and be inspired by this book.

Stories
Some really radical but moving stories included which will make you reflect and consider how to apply hospitality and love other people well. An easy listen as Rosaria narrates her personal, intimate and honest events herself. Listened to this within a week. Really enjoyed.

A must read for he who wants to explore Christian kindness to others through hospitality
I was confronted to how truly powerful the Word of God can be when put into practice, to what to be the light of the world can look like. I was moved to tears several times in this book, as in the others Rosaria wrote before this one, as I listened to the transformative powers of the love of Christ shared with a house key. It got me thinking deeper about questions I've been asking myself about how to be a light in this dark world. I know that I will put some things from this book into practice and try some others, and pray. I think Rosaria's books will soften my tongue, with God's help, so I can testify for Christ more, and daily. This book is Bible centered and will present you with a rich diversity of hurting peoples, it will challenge your worldview but always with the eyes on Christ. I strongly recommend.

The go-to book to learn about hospitality
Butterfield does a remarkable job persuading her readers of what she's so most convinced of which in this case is the practice of ordinary yet radical hospitality. And she does this with her usual use of rhetoric, language, and style that, at least for me, made me appreciate the English language even more. But much more importantly, her command of the language did convince me of her thesis -- the gospel comes with a house key.
