About this listen

Matt, Liz, and Aster are now Tier 10.

That means it's time for the Pather tournament. There they will face people who are as strong as them for the first time.

But things are never easy.

With years of Luna's guidance they will have to compete twice. Once as themselves and again under a mask with restrictions meant to ensure they really are the strongest.

Don't miss Book 5 of this action-packed fantasy adventure that blends everything you love about LitRPG with Xianxia.

About the series: This is a mix between LitRPG and Xianxia. It's like a car that looks like a LitRPG with dungeons and skills, but the interior and engine are all Xianxia. It features a magic system and progression system that are logically and internally consistent, as well as realistic fight scenes and a rational MC.

Great

Nice plot on this one with a big focus on one core story. Good time progression towards the end for a solid set up of the next book!

An epic battle arena story

really enjoyed this book. The balance between intense battles and general discussion is brilliant and the characters felt alive.

Brought it back

Was thoroughly disappointed with book 4. Book 5 brought it back, worst part though is that book 4 was this huge training montage and made literally 0 difference here, Good book, don't know why author put a speed bump half way through the series wavering my loyalty to it.

Here's to 6 to bring it home.

Great progression

I liked the story progression with a few surprises. The next one should be a banger!!

The path of the tournament

Nice twist on the traditional cultivation tournament. If you liked the previous books, you'll probably still enjoy this one too

Narration is pretty good, but I've noticed that Arquin seems to have "run out" of different "voices", especially for the female characters. Not too much of a worry though, as most of the extras only come back for short cameos, if at all.

Likely one of the best in the series

I really enjoyed this book in the series, I actually don't think i can think of any part I didn't like, so thank you keep up the good work and I love the narrator he makes me want to look at other books he has also narrated

Too messy!! Plot all over the place.

I thought book four was the weakest in the series; I was wrong. The plot revolves around a tournament where the MCs are heavily debuffed and can't go all out; making it boring. Having a melee character like Matt fight with talismans (of all things) couldn't make a fight any more boring.

Characters like Liz and Matt are lost in this story. Other characters come and go with no real purpose or depth. Chapters are drawn out for no reason, and fights are incredibly boring. None of the excitement, character growth, or powers shown in the first couple of books is present here.

Possible spoilers....

What's with all the auctions??? None of the MCs ever have enough money to win anything, so why have them? What's the point of describing the prizes, etc. it's not like it makes any difference to the story whatsoever; the bidding goes so high that it becomes nonsensical, and you wonder how the winners even pay for the items when the currency is points earned by fighting.

The MCs completed so many challenges, and yet they didn't get a single decent piece of loot.

It is all so very disappointing.

pronouns are destroying this story

half of the time men are them, wemen are them and at the same time they all are all over the place...he or she is in the second sentance... CAN YOU STOP? and focus on the story? The eqity msg just destroys the immersion OVER AND OVER AGAIN! At this point i am counting how many man are bad and made the story and how many good rightous wemen are making a differance in a stroy about people who spend milions of years who would not care about modern year politics...
