About this listen

My name is Nilsa.

I am the Shadow of the Moon.

A lunar witch.

A divine assassin.

And they will tell you that I am a traitor.

Framed for the murder of my own high priestess and with nowhere else to go, I'm forced to seek refuge amongst pirates. This mismatched crew of immortal males thinks I'm a solar witch; a harmless, goody-two-shoes, celibate priestess of life.

But it's hard to keep up the charade with a cursed fae, two broken shifters and an overprotective vampire tempting me at every turn.

It's even harder when I have to constantly restrain the urge to murder their asshole captain.

All I need to do is live long enough to exact vengeance and reclaim my place in my coven. There's no place for men in my life. Not even the siren haunting my dreams who claims I'm his mate.

Traitor Witch

This the first book in The Deadwood series. This is my first book I have read by Marie Mistry. I really enjoyed the start to this series. I am very interested to see where this series will go. Bridget and Jake Bordeaux did a fantastic job narrating this book.

Fantastic 1st book!

Didn’t realise I liked pirates so much! Loved this book, follows Nilsa a witch of the shadow side (Luna moon witch! There are a fair a few twists and turns when you’re framed for a murder but by chance she meets the crew of the deadwood, a motley crew of pirates who turn out to be so much more than they let on.

This is a fantastically narrated book by team Bordeaux, they are utter perfection bringing all of the characters to life!

Engaging story, brilliant narration

I thought this was an excellent book with dynamic characters. I enjoyed the story, and the mixture of mythical creatures, as well as the clear magical system. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because I found the constant switching between POVs quite jarring, and it often took me a moment to get used to the story in the new POV.
I thought the narration of this book really brought the book to life, the emotions brought out by both narrators helped keep me invested in the story and characters throughout, and kept the suspense of the writing.

Something different

I enjoyed this a lot! I like the narrating with 2 different narrators, I feel like it's a lot smoother and doesn't get so cheesy at points. I think the concept was really enjoyable, a bit different. I think the books will end up being spicier by the sounds of it and by the feel. I think the twists worked. I need the next one as a audio book already!

Great world building

Wow, I didn’t know I could love this story more until I heard the audio of it all.
I love the narrators and how they’ve got the tone of all the characters down.
Opal’s lines are just purfection,
The world is so immersive and connecting.
